Copper tower somewhere in the north of Slovakia
We are glad that in the north of Slovakia, objects are being created that defy stereotypes. One of them is the tower object, which I myself called the copper tower, which got its name mainly because of its copper patina colour. The roofing is not copper, but aluminium sheet PREFA in this copper-patinated colour. It is not only the colour that strikes your eyes, but also the interesting and almost fairy-tale shape of the tower with its circular ground plan. The shape of the roof wanted a certain form of imagination, but only a quality plumber can realise a small but very articulated roof. It may not occur to the layman what details the carpenter and plumber had to work out. Designing the right structural system, the right choice of rafters and the installation of replacements for the windows, all had to be planned and implemented well. The use of the roofing material only underlined this whole effort.
So what details did the plumber have to implement?
- conical folding
- production of square templates
- connections and transitions between templates and folded roofing
- terminations at the eaves
- cap of the whole turret
- creation of dormers (the most challenging part of the roof)
- plating of individual ridges on the tower
Take a look at the façade and I believe you will be eager to see this tower for yourself. I really recommend it. It’s an experience
