I decided to develop activities for children and youth to popularize the plumbing craft
- helmet manufacture
- flower shaping
- recycling of aluminium cans
- weaving roses
- production of the shield
Let everyone take from it what they like best.
Knight’s helmet
The process of making a knight’s helmet is very simple. Follow the instructions in the gallery.
Production of a rosette from an aluminium jar
An easy way to recycle tin jars and then turn them into something pretty. For example, even rosettes and give them to women, mothers, partners for different events.
Wheat from a can
This too was made from a tin can that was recycled. This is just one flower so far. But there can be many more and you can put them on a wreath or a candle holder.
Making decorations
- Easter
- Christmas
We created such a bunny.
Teasing the rose
The aim of the activity was to explain and show the tourists how it is possible to melt a copper rose. The tourists understood the procedure without lengthy explanations and many of them took their own rosette, made at the Orava Castle, home.
Procedure for weaving and shaping the rose
First, squares of copper sheet are cut out and then the curves are cut out to form the first petal. Four petals are needed for one rosette. We need to hammer shape on a hard best metal plate. Then we take round nose pliers and with these we shape the head of the rose. It is also possible to buy the complete production instructions with 1:1 scale templates and also with the petals already cut out. Find here www.marcus.sk The activity was designed for the more craft-savvy visitors.
The main objective of the activity was to promote craftsmanship and work with basic tools in cutting and shaping copper sheet.
