If you are insulating a house, be sure to pay close attention to the details of the windows. It is necessary to create a watertight connection between the window frame and the structure of the external plaster. The only solution is to use apu mouldings, which are glued to the window frame and thus ensure the reliable functionality of this detail.
A view of the incorrectly implemented lining, which would have looked better with the aforementioned apu mouldings:
In terms of aesthetics, it is necessary to match the colour of the windows with the colour of the façade. There may be a mismatch if you have anthracite or brown window frames and a dark plaster colour. In these cases, especially if you have, for example, red, dark grey plaster, it may happen that these apu mouldings will look disturbing. They are white in colour and contrast with the dark window frame and facade. It is possible to solve this by painting them in the decor of the plaster or a better more beautiful and functional solution is to use apu mouldings in anthracite or brown apu moulding. We prefer the apu mouldings that also come with a cover moulding. This serves as a safety device when the foam tape degrades, the cover slat will prevent rainwater from entering the lining. Also, thanks to the cover slat, cracks around the perimeter of the lining are not visible, as the cuff neatly covers them.
