In practice, it is customary to level the aerated concrete blocks using a glass-textile grid and construction adhesive, and apply a fine plaster on top of this substrate. This procedure is also possible, but the use of machine plasters should certainly be considered.
It’s faster, more convenient and the plastering is done by professionals.
It is not necessary to put the mesh all over. This can only be done in risky places, over windows or openings. Also, all grooves after installations are filled with cement mortar and re-gridded. In this case, we recommend treating the substrate with a water absorption regulator before applying the plaster. It is then possible to apply the machine plaster without worrying and from any manufacturer.
If the customer requires a mesh – kleber – plaster process, then we can only recommend BAUMIT plaster type MAXIMA. Only this takes into account the hydration process for the substrate in question.
