Modern family houses with large glazed areas create higher demands on the connection of plasterboard to the frames of these windows. Many architects require the frames of these windows to be recessed into the plasterboard construction to create a unique effect of contact with the exterior. However, terminating the plasterboard in this way is a difficult task for the contractor. It requires a very skilled craftsman to tackle the detail so as not to disfigure the window frame and to keep the line at the window clean.
Implementation of plasterboard finishing at glazed walls
The solution is to terminate the plasterboard using a termination profile with a PROTEKTOR cover strip. The profile is fitted into the plasterboard with a staple gun to finish the construction where necessary and then finished with a final trowel. Once all surfaces have been sanded and painted, the cover strip is removed. This will give clean lines along each window frame.
This termination profile has a pull-out cover strip for application in plasterboard. The S-shape of the profile provides a flexible connection to the structural elements of the profile. The termination profile with cover strip from PROTEKTOR is made of PVC material and is supplied in white colour. Connecting plasterboard to the frames of large glazed areas is a really challenging task, but the resulting effect is certainly worth it from an aesthetic as well as a functional point of view.
