Use of spacers as accessories for formwork
In this article, we will take a closer look at the topic: the use of spacers as accessories for formwork. This is a simple implementation that many builders don’t use and it may be the source of a problem in the future. The spacers and their use can be briefly summarised as follows: The plastic protector serves as a mounting hole for joining the formwork either with anchor rods or with a gag. The triangular strips are used to bevel the sharp edges of concrete products. These are mainly concrete parapets, edges of concrete lintels. These strips can also be used to border the top edge of the parapet or lintel and at the same time to obtain bevelled edges. This moulding will also help you in smoothing the concrete into a plane, for example in fences. Concrete plastic protector – has an identical function as the plastic protector, only this type is used for view and waterproof concrete. The protector is poured with cement milk and thus creates a nice detail. But be careful not to forget to use cones as well. Spacers and bow ties – these elements are used to offset the reinforcement at a specified height from the formwork or from the underlying concrete.
