Ventilated Facade Made of Standing Seam Cladding
The topic of ventilated facades made of standing seam cladding has become very relevant in recent times. Architecture is changing and the popularity of ventilated facades is growing. A ventilated facade made of standing seam cladding is an excellent option for achieving a high-quality facade on your family home — one that is also beautiful in its craftsmanship. This type of cladding cannot simply be purchased ready-made from a factory, where someone just comes and screws it on with agricultural screws and calls it done. No. That is not how it works. This facade is technically very demanding. It is necessary to know the placement of the openings, correctly prepare the substructure framework, and carry out the entire installation so that a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing building envelope is achieved.
This article is not the place to go into full detail, but I would like to emphasise that this facade is produced using a sheet metal bending machine. Every sheet was made by hand. Every termination and overlap of the cassettes was done by hand. Every detail was done by hand. I believe you may be asking why by hand, when we have profiling machines. And here is the answer. Profiling can produce certain waves that may not be visually appealing. But when bending on a bending machine, you achieve beautifully straight lines. And that is both interesting and highly valuable.
I would like to emphasise that a facade made of standing seam cladding is a craft matter, which means it is not a cheap construction. However, you have the guarantee of a high-quality, maintenance-free facade, which is a huge advantage compared to a ventilated facade made of, for example, red spruce.
With a professional eye, notice the arrangement of the cassettes around the individual windows. Pay attention to the layout and the width of the individual cassettes. A grid is created that takes these openings into account, resulting in watertight reveals with an installed window sill on enkolit. These constructions are precisely the areas where the most mistakes are made. That is why you should pay particular attention to these carefully crafted details.
