Improper reconstruction of a Canadian shingle roof

Let’s avoid cheap solutions to quickly fix a Canadian shingle roof and thus make do with even the wrong renovation. If a Canadian shingle roof is leaking, it is essential to remove the covering, including the formwork, and then build a new roof structure with ventilation. By leaking for some time, the roof has not only irreversibly caused rotting and moulding processes in the roof, but has damaged the thermal insulation, which is against any hygienic principles of healthy living. To illustrate this, I am bringing you pictures of the reconstruction of the roof, where all of the above has not been taken into account, which is a great pity. What is obvious from the pictures?
- the original thermal insulation remained embedded in the roof sheathing
- the vapour permeable insulation with cuffs at the penetrations has not been replaced at all
- the roof has no ventilation
- slatting of the structure, as a substrate for sheet metal roofing, in places of nailing, creates places for condensation of water vapour

How to avoid such a reconstruction and how to implement it?
In particular, you need to use the right designer, the right implementation company and of course have an enlightened investor. If the investor doesn’t get his say, we will be here in vain moaning about the flaws that the design has. I recommend using tools suitable for these types of structures.
